Printing
Labels come out too small or don't line up
Print at 100% (Actual size), with scaling off. Homewhere's PDFs are already the exact size of the paper; "Fit to page", "Shrink to fit" or a printer's "Auto" setting makes everything a little smaller, so it drifts off the stickers. On a computer, look for Scale or Page sizing in the print dialog. The 100 mm bar on the alignment test page should measure exactly 100 mm with a ruler.
The phone won't find my printer
Homewhere prints with AirPrint. The iPhone and the printer need to be on the same Wi-Fi. If the printer has no AirPrint, export a PDF from the print sheet and print it from a computer at 100%.
Sticker sheets
Which sheets work?
Homewhere knows common A4 and Letter label sheets. Each one is listed by size and count, with the code printed on the pack (such as L7165 or 3474) so you can find a matching one. The codes are only there to help you match a pack; any sheet with the same layout works.
What does "Check alignment first" mean?
Every sheet layout shows that badge until you print its test page once. Print the test page on plain paper, hold it over a sheet of labels against a window, and nudge it in Homewhere until the outlines sit on the stickers. Homewhere remembers the alignment for that layout, and it travels with your backups.
Which size for what?
To start with, Homewhere suggests big labels for rooms (99.1 × 67.7 mm, 8 per A4 sheet, e.g. L7165), medium ones for boxes (70 × 37 mm, 24 per sheet, e.g. 3474 or 1273), and 25 mm squares for things (70 per sheet). You can pick any other layout.
I only need a few labels
Choose where on the sheet to start, so a half-used sheet goes back in the printer and the next labels fill the empty spots.
Backups
Is my inventory backed up?
Three ways, all yours: your iPhone's own backup (iCloud Backup or a computer) includes it; with iCloud Drive on, Homewhere saves a snapshot about once a week and before erasing or importing, keeping the newest four in Files › iCloud Drive › Homewhere; and you can export a backup any time in Settings › Data and privacy › Export a backup.
How do I restore or move to a new iPhone?
Restoring your iPhone from its backup brings Homewhere's inventory back with it. Or open a .invbackup file from Files, or use Settings › Data and privacy › Import a backup (or a snapshot in the iCloud Drive snapshots list). Homewhere shows what the backup holds before anything changes. If your inventory isn't empty, it asks you to type your home's name, saves a snapshot, then replaces it.
If I delete the app, is everything gone?
Deleting Homewhere deletes the inventory on the iPhone. Snapshots in iCloud Drive and exported backups stay where they are, so you can import one later.
Labels
Someone scanned a label and got a web page
That happens when Homewhere isn't installed: the page shows the label's number and a link to the App Store. With Homewhere installed, the iPhone Camera opens the thing in the app.
